Verge once brought to fame by the street-smart John McAfee has been facing a lot of attacks recently. The recent attack was a DDOS attack, in which the Verge team has come to the rescue.
Verge is a decentralized, open source cryptocurrency which offers anonymous transactions by making the IP address and geolocation of its users unclear using technologies such as Tor and I2P.
The hack that took place a few hours ago, so far been maintained as a DDOS attack, however, according to experts, it is far beyond a simple hack.
Verge tweeted –
it appears some mining pools are under ddos attack, and we are experiencing a delay in our blocks, we are working to resolve this.

The comments on the tweet included the creator of Litecoin, Charlie Lee who keeps grinding them everytime they fail in security.
He replied to the tweet by saying-
Verge mining is being exploited again. Someone has 51% attacked and taken over the Verge network again. PornHub transactions are being reversed! 😂
Using 5 mining algorithms actually made it much worse. This is a great blog explaining what's happening: https://t.co/euf76UdDHN

Verge defended themselves with a defensive tweet-
Litecoin’s Charlie Lee went aggressive once again with a reply-
First of all, I'm not bashing Verge. Just commenting on an attack that's going on. Secondly, we could partner with TolenPay or even Verge in the future. I'm not going to hold back and not speak the truth even if the Litecoin Foundation has a partnership.

This whole conversation was about the partnership between Verge and Pornhub, which was bound to gain the coin some gains, however, was left stagnant in the market.
Charlie Lee at that time criticized the Verge and PornHub partnership stating on Twitter-
Turns out Verge's super expensive partnership was PornHub. “we think it has gained enough steam for us to penetrate the market.” penetrate. 😂@Pornhub, enough with the foreplay. Time to accept the real cryptocurrencies like BTC, LTC, and XMR. 🚀

Verge’s supporters have gone low key this time also, which is a sign of significant trouble for Verge.
