Hollywood Thriller about Crypto and the Dark-Web

A movie based on cryptocurrency is bound to hit the theatres in 2019. With cryptocurrencies being a significant talking point these days the film is bound to bring in a good crowd.

The movie will be called ‘Crypto’ and will feature famous celebrities such as Alexis Bledel from the renowned TV show Gilmore Girls, Beau Knapp from Seven Seconds, Kurt Russell  from The Hateful Eight, Luke Hemsworth who acts in popular tv show, Westworld, Jeremie Harris from the Legion and Vincent Kartheiser from the entertaining television show Mad Men.

The story is about a young anti-money laundering agent who investigates a case. The case revolves around an art dealer and a crypto enthusiast. The dark web is what will be showcased with plenty of underground dealings and ruthless digital action!

John Stalberg, the director of Crypto, said-

“I am overjoyed to be working with such an incredible cast to bring this timely, thrilling story to life. Beau is incredibly talented, and seeing him bring this character to life opposite talent like Alexis, Kurt, Luke, Jeremie, and Vincent has been a dream come true.”

It will be produced by Yale Prods and has already started filming in New York. Jordan Yale Levine, who is part of the producing company said-

“Cryptocurrency has captured the attention and imagination of consumers and entrepreneurs all over the world but has never been explored in film in such a nuanced and exciting way.”

According to the producers, it will be similar to the hit movies based on Computing and Internet technology – The Firm and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

The first movie about cryptocurrency was a Vietnamese movie called Bitcoin Heist released in 2016 which was based on a cryptocurrency hack. However, in 2016, cryptocurrencies were not as popular as today!

The hit television HBO show; Silicon Valley does mention cryptocurrency in plenty of their episodes these days.
