‘Zcash is Cool’ – Ethereum Founder Vitalik Buterin

Is Vitalik Buterin’s Second Favorite Cryptocurrency – Zcash (ZEC)

Vitalik Buterin, known to be one of the top cryptocurrency personalities and the founder of the second most popular cryptocurrency Ethereum has never openly praised any other project other than Ethereum. However, on Twitter, he hinted on his second favorite cryptocurrency.

The Twitter sparked a lot of interest with Ethereum’s creator Vitalik Buterin who is known to be a strong loyalist to his creation.

The reply from Buterin about Zcash was sparked after Twitter user ‘The Crypto King’, the founder of ANON asked if Vitalik comments on coins other than Ethereum.

Zcash is making waves of its own, and so it is no wonder Buterin commended the cryptocurrency. Zcash is a privacy-enhanced cryptocurrency which uses cryptography to provide more private transactions.

Some of the ongoing developments of Zcash include Zcash 2.0 which is well on its way and will be the first Sapling compatible version of Zcash. Zcash also has its very own conference called Zcon0 that is bound to make way for the Zcash community and for people to explore more about it.

Weiss Cryptocurrency Ratings recently briefed about the need for privacy tokens such as Zcash. They highlighted severe points of privacy coins such as corruption due to non-traceability. However, it also highlighted that privacy-centric cryptocurrencies could help democratic systems hold elections with the help of a private distributed ledger technology.

“Distributed Ledger Technology — the computer software that underlies all cryptocurrencies — offers governments the opportunity to move antiquated voting systems into the digital age. But it cannot do so effectively without Privacy DLT, the same advanced cryptography that’s being developed for privacy coins.”

Coinbase recently announced Zcash as one of the five assets to be explored to be added in the exchange. An announcement by Coinbase adding Zcash has proven that Zcash is amongst the top cryptocurrencies to be considered and is slowly but surely creating an impact in the cryptocurrency market.

Hopefully, Vitalik Buterin does not leave to Zcash, similar to how Toshi Times pranked readers back in April 1st (April Fool’s Day) about how he was about to join Bitcoin.
